That kind of long-term demand is part of why we invest in a stable field team instead of treating these roles as short-term or seasonal work.

Septic technicians at Rapid Flush inspect, pump, and diagnose septic systems for homeowners across our service area, often working independently once trained and sometimes alongside a crew on larger jobs. The role involves reading a property correctly, using diagnostic equipment to identify the actual problem, and explaining findings to a homeowner in plain language rather than technical jargon. Reliability matters here, since customers depend on a technician to show up, do the work correctly, and leave the property in good condition when the job is finished.
Applicants need a CDL B or higher, good driving record and current medical card (we can help update a medical card if needed but candidates must have CDL training before applying)
Drain cleaning technicians handle snaking, hydro jetting, camera inspections, and root control work on residential and commercial drain and sewer lines. The job requires comfort with physical work in tight or unpleasant spaces, sound judgment about when a line needs a deeper repair rather than a quick clear, and the patience to walk a customer through what was found and what it means for their property.
Beyond septic and drain cleaning work, we periodically open positions for sump pump repair and replacement, drain field repair, and emergency response support during flooding or backup events. As Rapid Flush continues to grow across the Grand Rapids, Lakeshore, and central Michigan markets, new field roles open on a rolling basis, and candidates with general plumbing, mechanical, or construction experience are encouraged to apply even when a specific listing does not exactly match their background.
We hire technicians who show up on time, communicate clearly with customers, and take ownership of a job from start to finish. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required for every field role, since technicians travel to properties throughout our service area on a daily basis. Prior experience in plumbing, septic service, drain cleaning, or a related mechanical trade is helpful, but we also consider candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine willingness to learn the trade from the ground up.
Rapid Flush technicians serve communities across Grand Rapids, Wyoming, and Kentwood; the Lakeshore cities of Muskegon, Grand Haven, Ferrysburg, Whitehall, and Norton Shores; and the central corridor communities, including Hudsonville, Coopersville, and Allendale. Most field roles require regular travel throughout this territory rather than a fixed single location.
