Drain Field Repairs & Restoration

Drain Field Repairs & Restoration

Is your septic drain field failing? Don’t replace it, restore it!
Drain fields allow filtered water that has been sorted from waste liquids and solids in a septic tank to travel through leach lines and seep into surrounding ground material, such as sand or stone, then seep down into the soil. If your septic tank is full of solids entering the drain field from lack of maintenance, crushed or deteriorated lines or root infiltration, the water from your septic tank won’t be able to drain through the leach lines and will cause a backup and reduce the lifetime of your septic system.

There are an estimated 1.6 million drain fields in Michigan and approximately 1 out of every 6 has failed or is failing. Replacing a drain field is very costly, but through our partnership with Michigan Drainfield, we’re able to offer a reliable drain field restoration process that has saved homeowners and business owners across Michigan thousands of dollars.

How to Maintain Your Drain Field

To keep your drain field healthy and working properly, schedule routine septic tank pumping. This will save you money and help you avoid expensive repairs in the future. Adding biological enhancements such as SRS or SRL is another way to keep your system operational, especially if you deposit bleach, antibacterial household cleaners or are taking antibiotics, chemotherapy, or are using other medicines that negatively impact the bacterial health of biology in your septic tank.

Another important tip to extend the life of your drain field is to avoid activities that can pack down soil which can damage your septic tank and drain field. To prevent this from happening, do not drive or park vehicles or equipment over your septic system and drain field. Do not install cement slabs, decks, sheds, pools, or fire pits over your septic system and drain field. Additionally, do not place structure over the drain field, plumb or empty perimeter or footing tile sump pumps into your septic system, and do not allow animals to graze in the vicinity of your septic tank or drain field.
